Camping With Kids
The title says it all! Wow, What a weekend! Camping with 5 kids was crazy but super fun! I was a little discouraged in the beginning but it all worked out, and ended up being a time to remember! Things I learned while camping with kids were: 1. When you invite friend with 3 or more kids, make sure you tell them 2 1/2 hours earlier then the time you plan to leave. 2. Grass site might be better then dirt, especially if it rains ( altough the kids probably prefer the dirt to dig). 3. Small marshmellows are better then extra large 4. Tip backwards instead of forward while shotguning a beer. 5. warm sleeping bags are important! 6. Have fun and roll with it, Things might not go exactly how you expect but making the most out of any situation will make for great memories. Cheese was a natural camper, him and Kianna were having the most fun. They were ontheir own weekend long exploration. Cheech on the other hand was more into the less messy activities like eating =). He would have little camping breaks in the car with a blanket, food and music. Thank goodness that Nic knows how to camp. he's the reason we have such a great time, especially me since I am not such a "pro" camper yet, After a couple more times round I might be able to teach Nic a thing or two. This will definitly be an activity that our family will be doing a lot of. It was nice to have a weekend away with family and close friends. Especially after the little ones crashed after a long day and us adults got to drink around the campfire. I look forward to many more years to come of it =)!

Summer Yet ?
Am I being punked or is it really summer? It's just NOT right when your ordering hot drinks from starbucks in the middle of summer. Im sure this is some kind of sick joke mother nature is playing on us! =) is it to much to ask for to just have an ICED americano with nonfat milk and sugar free vanilla on a nice hot day? C'mon, I think we are troopers with rain the rest of the year... give us our 3 months of sun! Well either way I love it here and I refuse to sit in a hot ( hopefully) house with two boys that have super energy. I will have to find some free fun activities. Fortunatly there are a lot here in the city. I want to hike and camp this summer. Today is Cheese's last day of school so I have to look for things soon! I have the summer off school too which will be nice to do lots of family stuff. We have had a good "summer" so far though. Went to my Dad's this weekend...funny story (well, wasnt so funny then, but it is now)ok......so....Imagine standing in your kitchen and turning around only to find a two year old in his diaper standing there! That's what happened to my Dad's neighbor this weekend when cheech (our little escape artist) walked out his front door crossed the street and walked right into the neighbors house! Oh, the joys of boys... always have to keep your eyes on them! my Dad also brought us to his gym and the boys had free range of all the stuff. It was so nice because as soon as we got in the car they were passed out! We went there mainly because Cheese is really wanting to learn basketball but he gets bored of one activity to easy! haha totally A boy thing... starting a bunch of intrest and and never finishing because something better comes along! Anyway, Im planning on making this summer a good one so im sure I will have a lot to write about or a lot to complain about if the weather doesnt get nicer soon! stay tuned....

Goodbye Suburbia, Hello City!
Well after today we will officially be done as suburbanites ( I know its not a word but thats what I do, I make up words, Its my blog). This will definitly be interesting raising our family in the city. I am looking forward to it though, it will be an adventure. Right now on the weekends, we say "So what should we go do today?" Then spend the rest of the day thinking about it and end up ordering a pizza and movie and staying home. There is just so much more to do when you live in the city. It will be fun to go to the coffee shop on the corner and a festival right up the street, or little resturants everywhere near by. I also want my boys to be cultured and encounter all types of people with all types of diffrent backgrounds, religions, and ways of life. I believe it is so important, and although the suburbs is great for family life it is also very sheltered and I am just not convinced that it is the "better way" for a child. now others may have their own opinion but I think that the more people and experiance a child/person has, the more well rounded they become. When I moved away from my small town and moved to Chicago, it was a reality check but also a new and exciting experiance. Well I will blog about living in the city with two small children, who knows, maybe my mind will change after living there for awhile =). So, Nic's grandmas left this great house that has so much history along with it. Its Amazing. Organizing all of her almost 90 years of stuff. We found some amazing things that she collected from all over, I found a calander from 1924! Nic has been working REALLY hard to fix it (It needs a lot of work)not only for us to live there but in honor of his Grandma's life. I want to take care of this house for the short time we are there, make it beautiful but keep the old charm. I think its important to keep the history with the house. Cheese is super excited... Today is his last day at this school and and told everyone that he is moving to the space needle! haha. I thought that was awesome. Ok well THE VIEW is on. I will update soon.
